हरी मिर्च का उपयोग पूरी दुनिया में एक खाद्य पदार्थ के रूप में किया जाता है। इसका उत्पादन पूरे विश्व में होता है। इसकी मांग पूरे साल भर रहा करती है । मिर्च का जायका काफी तीखा होता है। इसका उपयोग अचार ,मसाले ,सब्जी, औषधि और चटनी बनाने में किया जाता है। मिर्च में तीखापन कैप्साइलीन नामक तत्व के कारण होता है ।मिर्च खून को पतला करने और दिल की बीमारियों को दूर करने के लिए काफी मददगार होता है ।इसकी खेती हर तरह की मिट्टी में हो सकती है।इसकी खेती साल में तीन बार की जाती है ,पहली बुवाई जून-जुलाई महीने में और दूसरी बुवाई सितंबर अक्टूबर महीने में तीसरी बुवाई फरवरी-मार्च महीने में होती है।
