ग्वार को भारत में चतरफली के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। इसका मुख्य प्रयोग जानवरों के चारे के रूप में होता है। पशुओं के लिए ग्वार शक्ति वर्धक और दूध वर्धक का काम करता है। ग्वार से गोद का भी निर्माण होता है। विश्व में कुल ग्वार उत्पादन का 80 परसेंट भारत में होता है। ग्वार प्रायः ज्वार या बाजरे के साथ मिलाकर बोया जाता है। भारत में ग्वार का उत्पादन मुख्य रूप से गुजरात, राजस्थान, हरियाणा में होता है। इसका सबसे अधिक उत्पादन राजस्थान राज्य में होता है।
