आम एक प्रकार का रसीला फल होता है। भारत मे इसे फलों का राजा भी कहते है। आम भारत का राष्ट्रिय फल है। इसकी मूल प्रजाति भारतीय आम है।आम के पेड़ की लंबाई लगभग 120-130 फुट तक होती है। और इसकी जड़े मिट्टी में लगभग 20 फिट नीचे तक रहती है। इसके पत्तों मे एक विशेष प्रकार की सुगंध होती है। इसकी पत्ती 6-15cm चौडी व 15-35 cm लम्बी होती है। 

आम का सीजन पूरे साल मे एक बार ग्रीष्म ऋतू मे ही आता है आम के पेड़ पर मार्च - अप्रेल माह मे फूल आने शुरू हो जाते है और पुरा पेड़ फूलों के गुच्छों से भर जाता है। मई माह के आसपास फूल झडने लगते है और फल बनना शुरू हो जाते है। 

आम को अलग-अलग जगह व भाषा मे अलग-अलग नाम से जानते है। जेसे संस्कृत मे आम को आम्र कहते है। और अग्रेजी मे इसे मेंगो कहते है। भारत मे इसकी विभिन्न प्रकार की किस्मे है जैसे दशहरी तोतापरि बॉम्बेग्रीन व लंगडा इत्यादि |

आम का उपयोग लोग अलग अलग प्रकार से करते है। आम का उपयोग अचार शलाद व शरबत इत्यादि पेय पदार्थ मे आम के रस का उपयोग करते है । और आम की लकड़ी  हवन मे काम आती है।
